FIX: Multiple receipt notifications from the Zetafax Connector

This Zetafax technical note applies to:

• Zetafax Connector version 5.5 and 6.0

Symptom

When using the Zetafax connector version 5.5 or version 6.0 with Microsoft Exchange 5.5, you may receive duplicate messages from the connector (received faxes or notification of sent faxes).

Cause

Each incoming message is processed by a part of the connector called a thread.  By default the Zetafax 5.5 connector is configured with 4 threads, allowing it to process up to 4 incoming messages simultaneously.  However it is possible for two or more threads to begin processing the same message, which causes the duplication of messages.

Resolution

To reduce the number of simultaneous messages to 1 work though the follwoing:

1. Run the Microsoft Exchange Administrator program and select Site | Configuration | Connections | Zetafax Connector.  Choose Properties (File menu), then select the Options tab.



2. Change the In Bound 'Threads:' value from 4 to 1 and click OK to save this configuration.
3. Stop and restart the Zetafax connector from the Services applet in Control Panel.

Status

Zetafax version 5.5 is no longer supported by Equisys. This issue is resolved with the latest version of Zetafax, If you wish to upgrade to the latest version of Zetafax please contact the Zetafax distributor for your country for more information or:
