This Zetafax technical note applies to:

Symptom

Upon starting the Zetafax Server, during the licensing check, an error message is shown saying that the total number of licenced devices has been exceeded and the server shuts down.

Cause

The Brooktrout devices were being counted into the FOIP licence check. This error occurred if the total number of devices exceeded the number available on the FOIP licence.

Resolution

This problem can be resolved by installing a patch which is available here.

Status

This behaviour was corrected in a patch available for Zetafax.
