FIX: Zetadocs SharePoint Extensions advanced search returns a service error

This technical note applies to:

Zetadocs SharePoint Extensions version 3.0.41 and earlier.

Symptom

After clicking on ‘Zetadocs Archive’ from Microsoft Dynamics NAV, the Zetadocs SharePoint Search Results web page displays the following error - " Your search cannot be completed because of a service error" . Or,
On the Zetadocs Advanced Search web page, select the " All Zetadocs Content Types" option from the Content Type dropdown and perform a search. The search results page displays the following error - " Your search cannot be completed because of a service error" .

Cause

This problem is caused by a change in behaviour in both WSS 3.0 and MOSS 2007 after applying WSS/MOSS Service Pack 2. The service pack introduces restrictions on the length of a search query.

Resolution

A hot-fix is available for this issue. Please contact technical support for further details.

Status

This behaviour was corrected in a Zetadocs SharePoint Extensions hot-fix.
