FIX: Zetadocs stops processing documents in the batch split and root folders

ZTN4492

This Zetadocs technical note applies to:

  • Version 8 of Zetadocs Server or later

Symptom

Documents in the batch split and root folders are not being processed by Zetadocs when the amount of documents in any of the folders was extremely high. Although the Zetadocs Document Converter service continues to run, it requires a manual restart in order to begin processing documents again.

Upon looking in the ZdDocumentConverter log there may be an error message stating:
“BatchScanFolders_Error(): An error has occurred: Too many changes at once in directory”

A similar error may occur when using the root folder.Cause

This is caused by too many events occurring in the folders in a short amount of time, possible causes for this include; a large file being streamed/scanned to the folder, or a large number of files being added to the folders at once.

Resolution

This fault was corrected in a hotfix, which is available by contacting Equisys Technical Support and quoting the technote number ZTN4492.

Status

This behaviour was corrected in the ZTN4492 hotfix detailed above.
