FIX: Zetafax SMTP Server terminates when sending faxes with embedded images using Lotus Notes
ZTN2066
ID: ZTN2066
This Zetafax technical note applies to:
- Zetafax 2014
Symptom
When sending a fax with an image embedded into the message body from Lotus Notes, the Zetafax SMTP Server terminates unexpectedly. The service is shown as stopped. Typically this occurs if your email contains a signature that includes an image. Text only emails are unaffected.
Cause
This was due to an issue with the Zetafax SMTP Server that caused invalid data to be logged out when embedding images without filename into the body section of an SMTP format message. Lotus Notes includes these images without a valid filename.
Resolution
This fault was corrected in a hotfix, which is available by contacting Equisys Technical Support and quoting the technote number ZTN2066.
This fix ignores any attachments that do not have a valid filename in the message information.
Status
This behaviour was corrected in the hotfix detailed above.
