FIX: Zetafax Server intermittently misses incoming calls with some Brooktrout boards

This Zetafax technical note applies to:

  • Zetafax version 2008 (v12)

Symptom

When used with Brooktrout T1 E& M wink or analog DID boards, Zetafax intermittently misses incoming calls.

Cause

This is caused by the way in which the Zetafax device controller responds to timeouts when waiting for an incoming call.

Resolution

To resolve this problem, please perform the following steps: 

  1. Extract the files provided to a temporary location, e.g. c:\temp\
  2. Stop the Zetafax Server.
  3. Browse to < program files> \Zetafax Server\Server.
  4. Rename Devbtb.exe to Devbtb.exe.old.
  5. Copy the new file provided (Devbtb.exe) into your < program files> \Zetafax Server\SERVER\ folder.  Ensure that the file version is 12.0.675.
  6. Start the Zetafax Server.
