HOWTO: Change the default location of users inbox/outbox

The information detailed here will allow users to edit the default location of the user's inbox/outbox.

By default Zetafax installs each user's mailboxes in the same directory as the Zetafax Server. Some installations may require the user's folders to be stored in a different location. You can modify the default location by following these steps.

  1. Move the User folder located in C:\Program Files\Zetafax Server from the root of the Zetafax Server installation folder to the new destination. Make sure the parent folder is shared and everyone has access.
  2. Using Notepad, open the ZFCLIENT.INI file located in the C:\Program Files\Zetafax Server\System so that the UserArea: heading matches the path of the new destination of the user folder.

  1. Install the Zetafax clients on other machines using WKSETUP.exe, the ZFCLIENT.INI that you modified is used as a template and is copied over from the server to the local machine. This file is stored in the C:\Documents and Settings\< USER> \Application Data\Equisys\Zetafax Client\ directory and tells the client to access the user information from the location you specified in the ZFCLIENT.INI.

If you decide to move the USER folder after installing the clients on each machine, you need to edit the user specific ZFCLIENT.INI (mentioned above) to match the new location of the folder.
