HOWTO: Configure Zetafax CAPI devices to receive to users based on incoming phone number
ZTN1636
ID: ZTN1636
This Zetafax technical note applies to:
- Zetafax version 9 and later
Summary
Under normal circumstances, Zetafax will answer all calls on all numbers, which come down the ISDN or analog line to which it is connected. However, if you are using a CAPI board with more than a single port, you can configure Zetafax to route calls to a specific number into a given Zetafax user or group account.
More information
- Open the Zetafax Configuration Console and add a user account that will be used to hold all received faxes from CAPI devices (for instance, create a user named CAPIREC).
- In the Zetafax Configuration program, add a CAPI device for each channel used by the CAPI board, assigning all incoming faxes to the user account created in step 1 above.
- Browse to Automatic inward routing, then to Sub-addresses in the Zetafax Configuration Console and add the individual phone numbers of each fax line, setting the routing to the desired user or user group.
Zetafax is now configured to receive to a specific user or group account based on the called fax number from a CAPI device.
