HOWTO: How to improve the quality of Zetafax client-side rendering

ZTN1799

ID: ZTN1799

This Zetafax technical note applies to:

  • All versions of Zetafax client

Summary

When you print documents to Zetafax printer (or attach Office or PDF files in the Zetafax client fax wizard), the document is rendered locally by the Zetafax printer as a fax image. The quality of the rendered document is generally very good; however you can improve it further by modifying some Zetafax printer settings.

More information

Change the Zetafax printer settings as follows:

View both the Printing Preferences & in the Advanced tab - Printing defaults of the Zetafax printer and change these 2 settings:

  • Click Advanced. Set the “Graphic Resolution” as: True (200 x 200 DPI)
  • Set the “Color mode” as: Color - Error diffusion dithering.

Click Ok to save the settings. You should now see improved quality of files printed to Zetafax printer for sending as faxes.
