HOWTO: Loading settings for a fax relay Telephone Adaptor that differs from the FOIP gateway
ZTN1835
ID: ZTN1835
This Zetafax technical note applies to:
- Zetafax 2011 with Standard FOIP connector
Summary
This technical note details the steps involved in applying a second configuration settings file for fax relay gateways in the case where a particular Standard FOIP gateway configuration is incompatible with that of the fax relay Telephone Adaptor.
More information
This scenario only applies in instances where the user is experiencing issues using the Fax Relay feature (for instance, the inability to receive any relay messages from the Telephone Adaptor, or incomplete or rejected messages being received).
In order to load an alternative configuration for the fax relay Telephone Adaptor, perform the following steps:
- Stop the Zetafax Server if it is already running.
- Open the < ZFAX> \SERVER\Foipman folder, where < ZFAX> is the install path of the Zetafax Server.
- In the Template folder, identify the *.zfs file that corresponds to your Telephone Adaptor. The list below corresponds to the supported Telephone Adaptors:
- Audiocodes.zfs – Audiocodes gateways (MP-1xx, Mediant 600, Mediant 800, Mediant 1000 supported)
- Linksys.zfs - Cisco SPA2102 Analog Telephone Adaptor
- Default.zds – Other supported Telephone Adaptors
- Once identified, the file should be copied to the < ZFAX> \SERVER\Foipman folder and renamed to session.cfg_rel
- Restart the Zetafax Server.
- To test the new configuration file, send a fax via the relay Telephone Adaptor. It should now be possible to receive the message into the Zetafax Server.
