HOWTO: Setup the Zetadocs Client for faxing

Summary

Equisys produce both the award wining Zetafax product as well as Zetadocs. The Zetadocs Client can leverage the fax capabilities of the Zetafax Client to add fax as delivery option alongside email and print. This article details how to setup this functionality.

There are three main steps to setting up Zetadocs for fax delivery:

  • Installing and configuring the Zetafax Server with a dedicated fax modem or Intelligent fax card
  • Creating a Zetafax user account for the Zetadocs user
  • Installing and configuring the Zetafax Client on each Zetadocs Client PC

Creating a Zetafax user account for the Zetadocs user

Each Zetadocs user also requires a Zetafax user account to be created in order to send faxes from Zetadocs Client. Follow the detailed instructions in the online help to enable the Zetadocs users’ Windows account for Zetafax.

Installing and configuring the Zetafax Client on each Zetadocs Client PC

The Zetafax Client software must be installed alongside the Zetadocs Client for fax delivery. Follow the detailed instructions in the online help to install and configure the Zetafax Client.

  2. Configure

In order for the Zetadocs Client to contact the Zetafax Server, the Zetafax Client must not prompt for user name at startup. Failure to set this option will result in the following error: Failed to send fax

Follow these instructions to set the Zetafax Client to not prompt for username at Startup:

  1. Within the Zetafax Client, go to Options> Customize…
  2. Uncheck the Prompt for username at startup.
  3. Click OK.
