Summary
This technical note describes how to update your Zetafax Server installation to use the latest Brooktrout Drivers. Please note that following this advice may require you to reboot your server.

To upgrade to the latest Brooktrout Drivers, please perform the following steps:
- Contact technical support and request the latest Brooktrout driver version and then download it from the location provided.
- Extract the files from the download to a temporary folder.
- Shutdown the Zetafax Server and Zetafax Configuration programs.
- Go to < program files> \Zetafax Server\SERVER folder, this file will contain a number of files including those located in the < temporary location> \SERVER you just extracted.
- Rename these files and the Boston folder so as to keep a copy of the existing files that we are about to update.
- Copy the contents of < temporary location> \SERVER directly into your < program files> \Zetafax Server\SERVER folder (overwrite any files/folders if you chose not to rename them).
- Open Add/Remove programs.
- Uninstall the Brooktrout System Software if it is present.
- Browse to < program files> \Zetafax Server\SERVER\Boston\.
- Run Boston.msi – this will launch the new Brooktrout Configuration Tool and Driver installer.
- Follow the wizards on-screen instructions.
- During install, the New Hardware Wizard will be displayed.
- Choose the ‘No, not this time’ option and tell Windows that you will ‘Install from a list or specific location’.
- Choose the ‘Don’t search. I will choose the driver to install’ option.
- Choose the ‘Have Disk...’ button and when prompted select the trxstream.inf file in the < program files\Zetafax Server\SERVER\Boston\ folder.
- Complete the install.
- You may be prompted to reboot your system.
- Run the Zetafax Configuration program.
- If required, Add/Edit your Brooktrout device.
- Open the Brooktrout Configuration Tool and check that your country code setting is correct. If not, change your country code to the correct value, then select Save/Apply.
- Start the Zetafax Server.
