Summary

For any Zetadocs for NAV related issues, logs can be created. These are required to gather more information.

First you need to activate debug logging and secondly locate the logs for analysis.

Zetadocs for NAV 5 and above: Within NAV Adminstration | Zetadocs Setup | Zetadocs General Settings and select DEBUG log level.

For Zetadocs for NAV 4.X: Within NAV Adminstration | Zetadocs Setup | Zetadocs Systems Settings Form and select DEBUG log level.

If using NAV 2013 or later, ZetadocsNAV.log will be generated on the NAV mid-tier server only in the following location:

Zetadocs Capture - Document FactBox

ZetadocsCaptureAddin.log

Go to NAV Documents tab / factbox, select ‘?’ icon, and select log level from Zetadocs information window that appears. This will enable detailed logging in ZetadocsCaptureAddin.log.

Restart NAV Client after making either of the changes above to log level for it to take effect.

Go to ‘Zetadocs Client | Tools | Options | Diagnostics’ and select DEBUG log level to enable detailed logging in ZetadocsPDF.log.

Zetadocs Server

Go to config.xml on Zetadocs Server and line amend following line to specify DEBUG: Debug                                                      -->

Restart of Zetadocs Document Converter Service required for this change to take effect

C:\Windows\temp (if the Zetadocs Document Converter Service is running under Local System Account, otherwise it will be written to the default temp folder of the user that this service is running under).

Zetadocs API

To edit Zetadocs API logs settings open the registry editor by going to the start menu and clicking Run and entering regedit.

WARNING: Using Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. Equisys cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the incorrect use of Registry Editor can be solved.

  • For 64bit systems go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Equisys\ZetadocsAPI
  • For 32bit systems to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Equisys\ZetadocsAPI
  • To change the logging level create a string value called ‘LoggingLevel’ and choose a number accordingly:
    • ‘0’ – Debug
    • ‘1’ – Info
    • ‘2’ – Warning
    • ‘3’ – Error (default)
  • To change the log mode create a string value called ‘LoggingMode’ and choose a number accordingly:
    • ‘0’ – File And Event Log
    • ‘1’ – File Only (default)
    • ‘2’ – Event Log Only
    • ‘3’ – None

Within NAV Adminstration | Zetadocs Setup | Zetadocs General Settings and select DEBUG log level.

The location of these log files can be found in the temp folder of the user running the NAV Server Service.
