The following changes have been made to version 5.0 of Zetadocs for Microsoft Dynamics NAV

New in Zetadocs for NAV:

In the Cloud or on-premise - Full support of Microsoft Office 365's SharePoint Online for document archiving and retrieval, as an alternative to SharePoint Server or SharePoint Foundation; compatibility with hosted and on-premise NAV

Document Approvals - Company-wide approval of suppliers' invoices and other documents, with email notifications and the approval status displayed in NAV

Simpler, faster installation -– No need for table modifications in NAV, and the new Zetadocs Interface Modifier tool automates the NAV interface changes and complements the existing report modification tool. Further with no web services to install on SharePoint and a simple upgrade process from Zetadocs Express its never been easier to install Zetadocs.

New Architecture - The Zetadocs architecture is now organised into separate layers for UI, business logic and Data access.

Lighter integration with SharePoint 2010 - No direct access is required to the SharePoint 2010 server to install software. We no longer install a web service directly on the SharePoint server, instead we use the standard tools offered by the SharePoint Client Object Model (CSOM) and Sandboxed solutions.

Document FactBox - The current Zetadocs Documents FastTab is replaced by the Documents FactBox in the RTC and as a Documents sub-form in the Classic Client.

Version 5.0 of Zetadocs for NAV also includes the software improvements detailed in the following technical notes:

• HOWTO: Upgrading the Zetadocs Server on version 4.2 of Zetadocs for NAV
• FIX: Zetadocs Client intermittently generates an unhandled exception (JIT error)
• FIX: Error message displayed when multiple users print concurrently
• PRB: Overflow under type conversion of text to text message when sending a report with Zetadocs for NAV
• PRB: Error "The Zetadocs Related Documents table does not have an active key."
• FIX: The Related Documents Grid is not populated when there are more than 5000 documents in the document library
