INFO: Zetadocs Scanner Support
ZTN4053
ID: ZTN4053
This Zetafax technical note applies to:
- Zetadocs for Dynamics GP v2.0
- Zetadocs for Dynamics NAV v2.1
Summary
Zetadocs can capture scanned documents and archive these. This technical note gives you guidance on suitable scanners that can be used with Zetadocs.
More information
Zetadocs can be configured to user a scanner in two scenarios:
- Desktop scanner for use with the scan from document queue feature in the NAV or GP client
- Network scanner for scanning documents directly into the Zetadocs document queue
The following sections give guidance on what the requirements are in each of these scenarios.
Desktop Scanner
In this scenario, the user chooses the scan option from the Zetadocs document queue from within either the GP or NAV Client. Zetadocs will then use a locally connected scanner to scan a document and add it directly into the document queue. Zetadocs will work with most desktop scanners that support the TWAIN driver interface and produce scanned documents in one of the following file formats: PDF, jpeg or Tiff. Zetadocs has been tested with the following scanners:
- Fujitsu fi-5110C
- HP Deskjet F200
- HP Deskjet F2400
- Xerox Documate 162
Network Scanner
In this scenario, the user scans documents from a scanner connected to the network that can scan to file i.e. it places the scanned document in a directory on the network. Zetadocs is configured so that the document queue uses this network folder. Typically a multifunction printer (MFP) would be used to provide this functionality. Zetadocs will work with most MFP’s that support the scan to file function and produce scanned documents in one of the following file formats: PDF, jpeg or Tiff. Please consult manufacturers’ details for further information. Zetadocs has been tested with the following scanners:
- Canon iRC2880i
- Fujitsu ScanSnap S300
