PRB: An error is displayed when attempting to save and send in NAV 2009 and 64 bit Outlook

This Zetadocs technical note applies to:
- Zetadocs Express with Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009 and a 64 bit version of Microsoft Outlook
Symptom
When attempting to Save and Send a report, the following error message is displayed:

Cause
Zetadocs Express uses standard NAV functions to send emails through Outlook. NAV 2009 does not support 64 bit versions of Outlook, which causes the Save and Send operation to fail.
Resolution
There are two options for resolving this issue:
- Upgrade to Zetadocs for NAV Delivery Essentials – Zetadocs for NAV uses a different mechanism for sending reports via Outlook which fully supports 64 bit versions.
- Upgrade to Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013 - With the release of Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013, sending emails through 64 bit versions of Outlook is now supported, so Save and Send will work as designed.
Status
This has been identified by Equisys as a problem with the software versions given above.
