PRB: Cannot delete multiple items in Outlook when using Exchange 5.5 connector

This Zetafax technical note applies to:
- Zetafax 5.5 and later
- Exchange 5.5
Symptom
Outlook hangs when users attempt to delete more than one item at a time, or when shutting down if the "Empty the Deleted Items folder when exiting" option is enabled.
Cause
This problem occurs if the Zetafax Connector for Exchange 5.5 is installed on the same Exchange server which is running the Internet Mail Service (IMS).
Resolution
Run the Exchange Performance Optimizer on the affected Exchange Server to resolve this issue.
Status
This has been identified by Equisys as a problem with the software versions given above.
