PRB: DEVSMS reports error if SIM card is PIN locked

Symptom
Unable to send SMS alerts/summaries via the GSM modem and the SMS device controller (DEVSMS) will report the following error message in the Zetafax server monitor program on the communications server:
'no suitable send SM AT commands available'
Cause
The SIM card in the GSM modem device has a PIN set and PIN request enabled.
Resolution
- Extract the SIM card from the GSM modem.
- Place the SIM card into a mobile phone and scroll to the security settings of that device.
- From the security settings you should find a PIN enable/disable option.
- Select the disable PIN option and replace the SIM card into the GSM modem.
- Open Internet Explorer and go to Zetalink user configuration by entering the appropriate URL address e.g. http://%5Bmachinename%5D/zetalinkuser.
- Go to the numbers option. Select one of the SMS numbers configured here and send a test message to it.
- View the communications server. The message should now be processed and a test message received by the remote device.
Status
This has been identified by Equisys as a problem with the software versions given above.
