ZTN2016

ID: ZTN2016

This Zetalink technical note applies to:

  • Zetalink version 1.0

Symptom

Unable to send SMS alerts/summaries via the GSM modem and the SMS device controller (DEVSMS) will report the following error message in the Zetafax server monitor program on the communications server:

'no suitable send SM AT commands available'

Cause

The SIM card in the GSM modem device has a PIN set and PIN request enabled.

Resolution

  1. Extract the SIM card from the GSM modem.
  2. Place the SIM card into a mobile phone and scroll to the security settings of that device.
  3. From the security settings you should find a PIN enable/disable option.
  4. Select the disable PIN option and replace the SIM card into the GSM modem.
  5. Open Internet Explorer and go to Zetalink user configuration by entering the appropriate URL address e.g. http://%5Bmachinename%5D/zetalinkuser.
  6. Go to the numbers option.  Select one of the SMS numbers configured here and send a test message to it.
  7. View the communications server.  The message should now be processed and a test message received by the remote device.

Status
