PRB: Duplicate SMS alerts received with Zetalink

Symptom
You will intermittently receive duplicate or triplicate SMS alerts/summaries to your mobile device and your communications server will display the following error message in the Zetafax server monitor program:
'Error communication port fault sending message to remote'
Cause
The SMS device controller (DEVSMS) is not receiving confirmation from the GSM modem that the SMS message has been sent successfully and thus retries until it does. The problem is not specific to a type of GSM modem and has been know to occur from time to time on all devices tested by Equisys.
Resolution
If this problem is occurring often enough to cause major inconvenience changing the modem and/or network provider may help reduce this problem.
Or
This error is dependant on the modem and/or network provider and thus no workaround is available.
Status
This has been identified by Equisys as a problem with the software versions given above.
