PRB: Faxes are rejected when sending through a load balanced Exchange cluster
ZTN1867
ID: ZTN1867
This Zetafax technical note applies to:
- Zetafax 2011
- Exchange 2010 load balanced cluster
Symptom
Your MS Exchange environment consists of two Hub Transport servers which are load balanced clusters and integrating with the Zetafax Connector.
When faxes are sent through the hub transport where the connector is installed, it is sent successfully. However when sent from the other hub transport it will be rejected by Zetafax with the error “User is not registered”.
Cause
This is due to the addressing property on the email being changed from the expected format and therefore not recognised by Zetafax.
Resolution
The follow steps will need to carried out on your Exchange server.
- Make a note of the computer name for both Exchange Servers. E.g. “EXCH01” and “EXCH02”.
- Open Exchange Management Shell.
- Type following command:
- Type:
Get-Foreignconnector(followed by Enter)
Make a note of the name of the Zetafax Connector, e.g. “Zetafax Exchange Connector EXCH01”.
Set-foreignconnector “< name of Zetafax connector> ” –SourceTransportServers < First hub transport server name> , < Second hub transport server name>
(followed by Enter)
E.g. Set-foreignconnector “Zetafax Exchange Connector EXCH01” –SourceTransportServers EXCH01, EXCH02
Status
This has been identified by Equisys as a problem with the software versions given above.
