PRB: HTML table formatting is lost within MSG files when converted by the Zetadocs Server Document Converter
ZTN4116
ID: ZTN4116
This Zetadocs technical note applies to:
- Zetadocs Server - Document Converter service 1.1.31
Summary
Email documents (*.MSG) that contain HTML tabulated formatting within the body of the email, loose this formatting once converted by the Zetadocs Server to PDF/A documents.
Cause
The Zetadocs Server PDF conversion library does not currently support the conversion of embedded HTML tables within *.MSG email messages.
Resolution
Save the email message as type HTML (*.htm;*html) instead of Outlook Message Format (*.msg) from your email client to the Document queue to retain the table formatting.
NOTE: This process creates an < filename> _files directory for each *.HTM file saved. These files are not deleted by the Zetadocs Server as part of its post processing and may be safely deleted periodically.
Status
This has been identified by Equisys as a problem with the software versions given above.
