PRB: Outlook Add-in is Enabled for all Terminal Services Users

This Zetadocs technical note applies to:

  • Zetadocs for Microsoft Dynamics NAV 1.2

Symptom

When installing Zetadocs for Microsoft Dynamics NAV v1.2 in a terminal services environment, the outlook add-in module is installed and enabled for all terminal services users.

After the installation, terminal services users that compose a message in Outlook and add an attachment will be offered to the options to convert the attachment to PDF by the following dialog:

Cause

The default settings for the Zetadocs Outlook add-in are not meant to be used in a terminal services environment where some users are not using Zetadocs. This is a known issue in this release.

Resolution

When installing Zetadocs for Microsoft Dynamics NAV on a terminal server, please do the following:

  1. Log onto the Terminal Server machine locally as an administrator.
  2. Bring up the command prompt.
  3. Navigate to the following folder on your Zetadocs CD: Zetadocs NAV Client\ISSetupPrerequisites\{DBECCFED-E0C9-4EE7-A50B-8EF2FAA35AC1}\
  4. Type the following:
                change user /install
  5. Type the following:
                setup. exe /V" ADDINS=0 /L*v %TEMP%\ZDClientInstall.log"
  6. This runs the Zetadocs PDF installer for all users with the Outlook add-in disabled.
  7. Run through this installer, as you would normally.
  8. When the installer is complete, type the following at the command line:
                change user /execute
  9. Exit the command prompt.
  10. Execute the installer on your Zetadocs for Microsoft Dynamics NAV CD and run through the installer UI as you would normally.

Status

This has been identified by Equisys as a problem with the software versions given above.
