PRB: Unable to preview Zetafax forms in Outlook 2002

This Zetafax technical note applies to:

  • Zetafax 7 and later
  • Microsoft Outlook 2002

Symptom

Using Outlook 2002 you select a message from Zetafax, and the preview pane displays the following message:

This item contains active content that cannot be displayed in the preview pane. Open the item to read its contents.

Cause

The Outlook 2002 preview pane does not handle custom forms that contain VBScript code like it did with Outlook 2000.

Resolution

Open the Zetafax form to view the fax and details instead of using the preview pane.

This has been identified by Microsoft as a problem with the software versions given above (see Article ID: Q288754 on http://search.microsoft.com/)
