PRB: Zetadocs Templates do not get applied to reports printed from NAV
ZTN4099
ID: ZTN4099
This Zetadocs technical note applies to:
- Zetadocs for NAV 3.0 and 4.0
Symptom
During the Administrator type installation of the Zetadocs for NAV Client there is an option to create a shared network folder that will contain sample Zetadocs templates. These templates can then be referenced from settings in NAV so that they are applied to particular reports when printed to the Zetadocs Client. On some operating systems the sharing of the sample templates folder does not apply correctly. The result is that when printing reports on a different network machine the Zetadocs Client is unable to find the template files and fails to apply them.
This may also happen if you have created your own shared templates folder and referenced the templates you have created in the Zetadocs Templates Form and Zetadocs System Rules only to find that they are not applied when printed on a different machine or by a different user.
Cause
Due to UAC settings on the server when the Zetadocs for NAV Client - Administrator option is being installed, the sharing of the templates folder fails and the template files will not be visible across the network.
Or
When you manually created a folder for templates to be shared over the network the correct sharing permissions have not been applied.
Resolution
Double check the folder sharing permissions of the templates folder and ensure that all users who use those templates have at least read permissions on that shared folder on the network.
Also ensure that template settings in the Zetadocs for NAV Administrator settings of NAV reference the shared network path (\\FileShareServer\templates\Example.zdt) for the template and not the local files path (C:\templates\Example.zdt).
Status
This has been identified by Equisys as a problem with the software versions given above.
