PRB: Zetafax Web Client may not install correctly on some Windows Servers

This Zetafax technical note applies to:
- Zetafax 2010 and later
Symptom
After installing the Zetafax Web Client on some Windows server systems, the Web Client may not open correctly with an error:
“Server Error in '/Zetafax' Application.”
Resolution
Enable network COM+ access
- Click Start, point to Control Panel, and then click Add or Remove Programs.
- Click Add/Remove Windows Components.
- Select Application Server, and then click Details.
- Click Enable network COM+ access, and then click OK.
- Click Next, and then click Finish.
- Restart the computer.
In IIS Manager
- Browse to the Default Web Site and expand to see the “Zetafax” application*.
- View the Basic Settings, and change the application pool to " Classic .Net 2.0" .
- Restart IIS services by running IISRESET command.
- In some instances, if you do not see a “Zetafax” application, you will need to add it by right-clicking The Default Web Site and selecting “Add application” and set the followilig:
- Set the Alias as Zetafax
- Set the Application Pool to " Classic .Net 2.0"
- Set the Physical Path to the location of the Zetafax Web client’s Web folder e.g.
C:\Program Files (x86)\Zetafax Web Client\web - the Authentication section. Ensure that Anonymous Authentication is enabled, and Windows Authentication is enabled.
- Again in the IIS section, open the Default Web Site section. Add Outbox.aspx to the list of default pages.
Status
This has been identified by Equisys as a problem with the software versions given above.
