Quality and performance improvements

This update includes a number of quality and performance improvements, including the following

Changes to expense date warnings

We have changed how the system displays warnings when an expense date is in the future or over 90 days ago.

Previously if an expense date was in the future then the system displayed a validation error which would prevent the expense from being submitted for approval, and if an expense date was over 90 days old the system displayed a validation warning.  These warnings were shown in expense lists and also on the View and Edit Expense screens.

The validation state for an expense is only updated when the expense is edited or submitted for approval, and the current date will change depending on the timezone.  For date validation messages this caused inconsistent behavior in some cases – for example, an old expense could be shown with a validation warning on the View Expense screen but not show this in the Expense list, or submission of a report could be blocked occasionally if the local date was different to the GMT date.

We have now changed behavior so that date warnings are only shown on the View Expense and Edit Expense screens, and are displayed as information text rather than as validation warnings.  We have also changed the date selector to prevent a user from inadvertently choosing a future date for an expense.

Improve service response time

We have corrected a number of issues in the service which could cause system response times to increase over time.

Further work to prevent reports becoming stuck

We have corrected two intermittent issues which could cause a report to be left in a “processing” state in some cases, requiring intervention by Equisys before the report could be approved and exported.

Correct autolink behavior with duplicate expenses

When a new payment card transaction is imported from your bank, the system looks for an expense to match it to.  Previously in some cases if there were two expenses for the same amount the system would mark both as matched, preventing the card holder from matching the second expense to another transaction. 

This has now been corrected.  If there are two or more expenses which match a new transaction the system will now leave the transaction as unmatched so the cardholder can match to the correct expense manually.

Additional upgrade steps

Extension for Business Central

If you are using a Microsoft hosted version of Business Central, you can update the Zetadocs Expenses Extension from the Manage Apps page in the Business Central Admin Center.  Updates are typically available on Microsoft AppSource within a few days of release.

If you are using a Business Central system running on-premises or hosted by another company, you should contact your Business Central Reseller (VAR) for information about how to upgrade the Zetadocs Expenses Extension.

This release is compatible with all previous versions of the Extension for Business Central.

NAV Server Components

The NAV Server Components have not been updated in this release.

This release is compatible with previous versions of the NAV Server Components (versions 3.3.18178 and later).

Reporting Template

The PowerBI Reporting Template has not been updated in this release.

Mobile apps

Installed mobile apps will be updated automatically on mobile devices where this is enabled.
