What is an external email address?

An External email address is any email address that is not part of your local domain.  You can identify an external email address as will have a different suffix from your email address.  For example:

User's email address

myemail@mydomain.com

Internal email address

another@mydomain.com

External email address

client@theirdomain.com

When setting your default sending options, you can set your attachments to be converted only for external addresses (allowing documents to be edited internally), or for all emails sent.

Having set this option, this behaviour will be followed each time you use the conversion wizard.

Internal/External email addresses

This option allows you to specify the conversion behaviour of attachments based on the type of email address that has been entered.  This allows you to secure documents for external viewing whilst allowing modification of documents internally.
