Communication with clients
Most requests from the clients to the Zetafax Server are made by creating a control file in the user's own area, together with any data files which are needed. A small file is then created in the Request Area giving details of the type of the request (that is, whether it is Send, Address book, etc.), plus the username and control file name.
The clients check that the Zetafax Server is running by attempting to open a lock file ZETAFAX.LOK in the request area. This is kept open by the system manager, blocking clients from having access to the file whilst the Zetafax Server is running correctly.
