Edit rules
Rule description
Type an informative description of the rule you would like to create. This will simplify the stages of defining the rule, and will help in understanding your rules later. Example descriptions include 'Send all urgent faxes via the local server' and 'Send all faxes for Europe via the Paris server'.
Summary tab Faxes to these destinations
A list of destinations currently included in the rule. Double click an item here to jump to the Destinations tab.
Which also fulfill these criteria
A list of the other criteria (e.g. Users, times) that are included in the rule definition. Double click an entry to jump to the relevant tab.
Will be sent using these Zetafax servers
A list of the servers to be used to send faxes matching the rule.
Destinations tab
Rule applies to messages to any destination
Select this button for a rule that matches any destination.
Rule applies to messages to the following destinations only
Select this option to define a rule that only applies to faxes to particular destinations.
This list then specifies the destinations to which the rule applies. Double-click an entry to remove it from the list.
Add
Add the item selected in the Region , Country or Area list to the rule.
Remove
Remove the selected item from the rule.
New location
Click this button to start the LCR Destinations dialog, allowing you to change Area , Country and Region definitions.
Region
This is a list of the Regions available for adding to the rule. Double-clicking an entry will add the region to the rule.
Country
This is a list of the Countries available for adding to the rule. Double-clicking an entry will add the country to the rule. Selecting a country will cause all of its area to be displayed in the Area list.
Area
This is a list of the Areas in the selected country that are available for adding to the rule. Double-clicking an entry will add the area to the rule.
Priority tab
Rule applies to messages of any priority
Select this option for a rule that applies to messages of any priority.
Rule applies to these priorities only
Select this option for a rule that applies to messages of specific priorities.
Urgent, Normal, Background
Check any combination of these boxes to specify which message priorities the rule will apply for.
Users tab
Rule applies to messages sent by any Zetafax user
Select this option for a rule that applies to messages submitted by any user.
Rule applies to the following users only
Select this option for a rule that applies only to specific users.
The list below then specifies the users for which the rule applies. Double-click an entry to remove it from the list.
Add
Adds the selected user from the Users not included in rule list to the rule.
Remove
Removes the selected user from the rule.
Users not included in rule
A list of all the current Zetafax users that can be added to the rule definition.
Time tab
Rule applies at any time of day
Select this option for a rule that applies at any time of day.
Rule applies at OFFPEAK times only
Select this option for a rule that only applies at OFFPEAK times. (See Off peak time options for definition of OFFPEAK times).
Rule applies at all times except OFFPEAK times
Select this option for a rule that applies at all times except OFFPEAK times. (See Off peak time options for definition of OFFPEAK times).
Rule applies at specific times given below
Select this option for a rule that applies at specific times, defined using the From , To and day boxes below.
Mon, Tues, Weds, Thurs, Fri, Sat, Sun
Check the days on which the rule should apply all day.
From, To
Specify the times during which the rule should apply (24-hour, 00:00 23:59) on all days other than those specified above. For example, for a rule to apply between 8am and 5pm, set From : 08:00 To : 17:00, and for a rule to apply between 6pm and 7am set From : 18:00 To : 07:00.
Size tab
Rule applies to messages of any size
Select this option for a rule that applies to messages of any size.
Rule applies to LARGE message only
Select this option for a rule that only applies to large messages. Now use the edit box to set the minimum number of pages for the rule to apply.
Rule applies to SMALL messages only
Select this option for a rule that only applies to small messages. Now use the edit box to set the maximum number of pages for the rule to apply.
Servers tab
The message will be submitted to the first available server in the following list
This is a list of the remote servers to which messages matching the rule will be submitted.
The order of the servers in the list is very important, because the Zetafax server will try submitting to the remote servers in the order that they are listed here.
Once some servers have been added you can move a server up or down in the list by selecting it, then clicking <<Up>> or <<Down>> .
Double-clicking an item removes it from the list. <<Up>>
Move the selected server up one place in the server list. <<Down>>
Move the selected server down one place in the server list.
Add
Add the selected server in the Other servers available for sending messages list to the rule.
Remove
Remove the selected server from the rule.
Other servers available for sending messages
This is a list of all of the remote servers to which links have been configured (see LCR Links).
The list will also include your local server. See Configuring LCR for more than one site for details about the difference between selecting your local server from this list and checking the Use local server if no others are available box.
Use local server if no others are available
If this box is checked, faxes matching a rule where no remote servers are specified, or where none of the servers specified are available on the network, will be sent directly from the local server. If this box is left unchecked messages matching the rule will never be submitted to the local server.

Discard changes to this rule and exit the dialog.
