Zetafax SMTP gateway overview

The Zetafax e-mail gateway for SMTP allows users of SMTP e-mail systems to send and receive faxes directly from their e-mail client application.

 

By addressing an e-mail to a fax domain, the message is passed to the Zetafax Server, via a Zetafax SMTP server and converted into fax format for sending.

 

The Zetafax SMTP server is configured with your SMTP mail system by the following parameters.

 

Domain Name

This must correspond to your corporate SMTP mail server domain address.

(e.g. yourdomain.com)

 

DNS Server

IP address of the DNS server authoritative for your domain.

(e.g. 192.168.0.1)

 

Data Directory

Working directory of the Zetafax SMTP Server to store any incoming faxes or notification messages. It must point to the path selected during the Zetafax SMTP server installation.

 

Receive Port and Send Port

The Receive and Send Ports are set to 25 (default SMTP port) unless the Zetafax SMTP server is on the same machine as the main SMTP server (not recommended) or you are using customized ports.

 

Receipt 'FROM'

Name or email address that will appear in the 'FROM' section of message receipts routed through the SMTP Gateway.
