Zetafax failover - automatic failover

 


 

Once your system is correctly configured, your Zetafax system will automatically start using your Back-up Zetafax Server as soon as it detects that the primary Zetafax Server is no longer functioning.

 

There are several ways that you can tell that your Back-up has replaced your Primary Zetafax Server:

 

The Back-up Zetafax Server Monitor will stop displaying a (Passive) message

On startup, the Back-up Zetafax Server will post a message to the server.log:

 

         ‘Back-up Server now handling all messages’

 

On startup, the Back-up Zetafax Server will post a message to the application event log:

 

         ‘Back-up Server now handling all messages’

 

Every 15 minutes, a message from the Back-up Zetafax Server will be posted to the server.log:

 

         'Back-up server is currently active and handling all messages'

 

It is important, having noticed that an automatic failover has occurred, to determine the reason behind your system failure.  To do this, check the server.log on your Primary Zetafax Server for error messages.

 

Once you are sure that your system is stable, follow the instructions on how to revert back to the original configuration.
