Installation overview

You can use Zetafax in many different configurations. As a result, it consists of many elements that you can choose to install depending on how you intend to use Zetafax. Most items are optional and you should only install them if you plan to use their functionality. The only compulsory element is the Zetafax Server.

 

Server-side elements:

•Zetafax Server

•Zetafax Connector for Exchange

•Zetafax SMTP Server

•Zetafax Options for Lotus Notes

•Zetafax Web Client

 

Client-side elements:

•Zetafax Client Applications consisting of the Zetafax Client, FaxBroadcast, Outlook Integration, Microsoft Office Addins for Word and Excel.

 

Development/ISV Tools:

•Zetafax API Toolkit

 

The most important component of Zetafax is the Zetafax Server, which processes the sending and receiving of faxes. Regardless of how you intend to use Zetafax, you must install the Zetafax Server first.

 

This document gives you all the information you need to install and configure the Zetafax Server for basic faxing.

 

In order to implement your Zetafax system successfully, you need to complete these steps:

1.Install and configure the Zetafax Server.

 

2.Roll out the Zetafax Client Applications software to users' desktops.

 

 

If you want to extend your system to fax from Microsoft Outlook, you need to complete these additional steps:

 

 1.        Install the Zetafax Connector for Microsoft Exchange.

Summary

The Zetafax installation program adds all the necessary components to install the Zetafax Server on a system.    

 

When either the Zetafax configuration program or the Zetafax Server is started for the first time, a configuration wizard guides you through the necessary steps to set up your system to send and receive faxes.

 

These include:

•Licensing and automatic registration of your software.

•Making Zetafax available to users on your network.

•Enabling network users to use Zetafax.

•Adding your fax devices and printers.

 

These stages are described in more detail in the Configuration Wizards section.

 

Once you have completed the configuration wizards, you can use the Zetafax Configuration program to edit settings.
