FIX: No Dial Tone Detected error when faxes are sent in quick succession on a Brooktrout device Print ZTN2098 ID: ZTN2098 This Zetafax technical note applies to: Zetafax Version 17.0 Symptom On some systems, there are regular failures seen, showing ‘no dial tone detected’ on the Zetafax Server Monitor. This happens more often when there are high volumes of faxes and a fax message completes, and the next message attempts to dial immediately after without any delay between the two faxes. Cause On some phone systems, the line may not be reset correctly unless there is a short pause between completing a call (replacing the handset) and dialling the next call. The Brooktrout device controller defaults to dialling immediately after the previous call terminates, and thus there are call failures on these particular phone systems. Resolution This fault was corrected in a hotfix, which is available by contacting Equisys Technical Support and quoting the technote number ZTN2098. This adds a configurable setting that can be manually added to the configuration file for the device controller, so that the wait time between calls can be adjusted. Status This behaviour was corrected in the hotfix detailed above. Last updated: 5th April 2016 (NT) Keywords: SR140 TR1034 TR114 PBX
