HOWTO: Changing the received file format in the e-mail gateway Print ZTN1153 ID: ZTN1153 This Zetafax technical note applies to: Zetafax 8 and higher Summary In Zetafax versions 5.5 to 7.5 the default file type was .G3F (fine) or .G3N (normal) files. While these can be viewed using the Zetafax Viewer or the Zetafax Outlook Extensions, it is sometimes necessary to configure the e-mail gateway to receive faxes in a different format. This document explains how to specify the desired format. Note: With Zetafax version 8 by default all received faxes which are passed to the e-mail gateway are as.TIFF files. These can be viewed using windows imaging (Windows 2000) or the Image and fax viewer (Windows XP) More information To configure the e-mail gateway to deliver all the files in a specific format perform the steps described below: On the Zetafax Server machine, open the file zfax\SYSTEM\Z-DB\SETUP.INI, where 'zfax' is the name of the directory where Zetafax is installed. In the [OPTIONS] section, add the following line: MailSendFormat: < format> Where < format> is one of the following options: TIFF-UNCOMPRESSED WPG WMF TIFF-HUFFMAN TIFF-G3-FAX TIFF-LZW TIFF-G4-FAX DCX EPS PDF (Version 9 and above) PICT TIFF-PACK TIFF-2D Save SETUP.INI and then restart the Zetafax Server.
