PRB: Extra prefix added to fax number on retry when using SR140 device Print ZTN1949 ID: ZTN1949 This Zetafax technical note applies to: Zetafax 2012 and below Symptom When a Brooktrout SR140 device is set up with a dial prefix enabled and the ‘redial immediately’ setting enabled, if a fax fails to send the first time due to a device communication error the prefix is repeated during the retry resulting in an invalid number being dialled. Cause This is due to an issue with the redial logic in the Brooktrout SR140 driver when redialling immediately. Resolution To resolve this issue, uncheck the ‘Redial Immediately AND’ option in the SR140 device options in Zetafax Configuration. If a fax fails to send due to a device communication error, the fax will not retry immediately, but will be placed into the Zetafax retry queue. This retry will occur after the specified interval in the Zetafax retry settings. Status This has been identified by Equisys as a problem with the software versions given above and will be fixed in the next release of Zetafax.
