PRB: Primary failover system shuts down after backup server launch

This Zetafax technical note applies to:

  • Zetafax 2007 and later

Symptom

On certain operating system platform configurations, the primary server in a failover setup will shut down after the backup has been launched (more than 5 minutes after backup has been started).

Cause

There is an issue with the way the backup server monitors the status of the primary server. Communication can be lost when running on certain operating system configurations, causing the backup server to become active and shutting down the primary server.

Please contact Equisys technical support.

This has been identified by Equisys as a problem with the software versions given above.
