This Zetafax technical note applies to:
Symptom
When a fax is interrupted part way through a send using a Brooktrout device, and the ‘redial immediately’ option is checked in the Brooktrout device settings, the fax will retry immediately. However, the receiver will not receive the complete fax message.
Cause
This is due to an issue with the Brooktrout driver not keeping track of the page number that was sending during the interruption to the fax message. This is only an issue with immediate retries.
Resolution
To resolve this issue, uncheck the ‘Redial Immediately AND’ option in the Brooktrout device options in Zetafax Configuration. If a fax is interrupted part way through sending, the fax will not retry immediately, but will be placed into the Zetafax retry queue for a retry at the specified interval on the Zetafax retry settings.
Status
This has been identified by Equisys as a problem with the software versions given above.
