PRB: Zetafax Server adds an incorrect prefix to the fax number when sending from Outlook
Print
ZTN1537
ID: ZTN1537
This Zetafax technical note applies to:
- Zetafax version 7.0 and later.
Symptom
Faxes are failing to be sent from Outlook to contacts within the address book and to international numbers.
For example:
Using Outlook extensions to send a fax works with the recipient's number as 012 3456 7890 but fails when you select a contact from the address book and the fax is sent using +44 12 3456 7890. Zetafax Server modifies the number and adds a prefix e.g. 011441234567890. With the modified number being invalid, the fax fails to send.
Cause
Zetafax Server will modify numbers according to the dialing rules. The dialing properties have not been configured correctly in Zetafax Configuration.
Resolution
Reconfigure the dialing properties following the instructions below:
1) Open the Zetafax Configuration program
2) Select the Telephone dialing properties option from within Server settings
3) Select Usedialing properties and click on Configure.
4) Choose one of the two options below:
a. It is recommended to simply set this to use Standard TAPI settings.
Or
b. If you require custom settings, modify the settings to match your configuration. Make sure the correct country is selected and specify the relevant local area and international access codes. Click on the Help button for more information on setting up dialing rules. Use the test field at the bottom to confirm your settings are correct.
5) Save the settings and restart the Zetafax Server.
