This Zetafax technical note applies to:
- Zetafax Server 2012 Platform Feature Pack and below
Symptom
When sending emails with attachments through the Zetafax SMTP Server, the Zetafax Server fails to send the fax message. On closing the Zetafax Server and sending the email again, the Zetafax SMTP Server produces a .TMP file in the Zetafax SMTP Server’s install /OUT directory with the attachment file name tag containing a carriage return character like so:
FROM: < john@company.com>
TO: " smith/02075555555" < smith/02075555555@fax.company.com>
SUBJECT: test subject
BEGIN BODY
< < ENV5.bdy> >
END BODY
BEGIN ATTACH
< < long attachment file name -
with carriage return.pdf:ATT6510658.pdf> >
END ATTACH
Cause
This is due to the Zetafax Server not being able to deal with a carriage return character in the attachment filename. This is most likely to happen in files produced with a MacOS operating system.
Resolution
A hotfix is available from Equisys Technical Support.
Status
This fault was corrected in the above mentioned hotfix
