FIX: Zetafax 7 mail gateway for Exchange causes faxes to be held for sending Print ZTN1081 ID: ZTN1081 This Zetafax technical note applies to: Zetafax 7.00.0.26 mail gateway Symptom When Zetafax 7 mail gateway is configured with Microsoft Exchange, and a fax is submitted to the Zetafax server via an Outlook client in time zones in front of GMT (i.e. the United States), the fax is held in the Zetafax server's queue without being sent. Accessing the users corresponding Zetafax account using the Zetafax client, you notice the faxes are held for sending and may be manually released. This does not affect the Zetafax mail gateway for other e-mail systems (i.e. Lotus Notes). Cause This problem is caused by the mail gateway program (STM32.EXE) incorrectly picking up the Zetafax server's system time and defaults to GMT (Greenwich Mean Time). Thus the Zetafax server holds faxes submitted in time zones in front of GMT time until GMT time is reached (i.e. a fax submitted in Eastern Standard Time will be held for 5 hours and then sent). Resolution This issue is resolved by applying the Zetafax mail gateway update (ZFMAILGATEWAY_75191.EXE). This is available on the Equisys web site http://www.equisys.com/ as a separate download for Zetafax 7 mail gateway users. Status This behaviour was corrected in the above mentioned maintenance release. Last updated: 27 February 2003 (GC/DH)
