PRB: Zetafax Exchange 2000 connector stops soon after starting Print ZTN1144 ID: ZTN1144 This Zetafax technical note applies to: Zetafax 7 connector for Microsoft Exchange 2000 Symptom This problem may manifest itself as any one of the following symptoms: The Zetafax connector service is stopping in the Service manager and Task manager shows the process ZF2KCONNECTOR as still active. Viewing the Application Event log the following entry appears: Candidate conversion DLL ZF2KOut.dll rejected conversion for point = ZFCONNECTOR.OUTBOUND, class = REPORT.ipm.replication.NDR. Error code = 800b0004. Cause The Zetafax Exchange 2000 connector has been reinstalled before Exchange has marked the Zetafax connector mailbox as orphaned and the connector set-up program reuses this mailbox resource. Resolution The Zetafax connector will need to be uninstalled, the mailbox resource purged and then the connector reinstalled. To accomplish these tasks follow the instructions below: Use 'Add/Remove Programs' to uninstall the Zetafax connector and reboot the system if prompted. Log back on to the Exchange server as a member of the 'Schema Admins' security group and launch the ESM (Exchange System Manager). Navigate to the 'Mailboxes' container of the 'Mailbox store' in the 'First Storage Group' and select the 'ZFCONNECTOR' mailbox. If the mailbox has a red cross over it, jump to number 5 below. Right click the 'Mailbox Store' and choose 'Run cleanup agent', this will mark the 'ZFCONNECTOR' mailbox as orphaned and place a red cross over it. Right click the 'ZFCONNECTOR' mailbox and select 'Purge' from the menu to delete the mailbox resource. Close the ESM and locate the Zetafax Exchange 2000 connector installation source directory. Launch SETUP.EXE to reinstall the connector. Status This has been identified by Equisys as a problem with the software versions given above. Last updated: 17 August 2001 (GC/DH)
