Changes in this update

Feature enhancements

This release contains the following enhancements:

Detection of duplicate expenses

A new capability has been introduced, that leverages Azure AI services, to detect possible duplicate expenses that have may have been submitted accidentally or fraudulently.

Zetadocs Expenses will warn users if they submit an expense that maybe a duplicate. The finance processor will also be shown warnings about possible duplicates to allow them to detect possible fraud and ensure accuracy.

This functionality is disabled by default but can be enabled from the System Settings page.

Android 17 support

The Expenses mobile app for Android has been validated against Android 17.

Display custom properties based on expense type selection

It is now possible to make the display of a custom property, on the new expense screen, conditional on the expense type a user has selected. For example, display a ‘No. of attendees’ custom property when user selects ‘Client Entertainment’ expense type.

Administrators can configure this on the Custom Property Details page:

New option to specify a default setting for ‘Sales tax reclaimable’ field

A new setting has been introduced that allows administrators to specify a default value (i.e. checked | Unchecked) on the ‘Sales Tax Reclaimable’ checkbox that is shown on the New Expense screen, if a non-zero tax rate has been selected.
This new setting can be found on the System Settings page.

Note: If no sales tax is extracted from the receipt, then this setting will always be left unchecked.

Quality and performance improvements

This update includes various improvements including the following:

OData reporting feed performance optimizations

Background performance improvements have been made to the OData reporting feed, with up to 33% improvement in load times seen in test environments.

Disabled users able to approve reports via email links

Fixed an issue where disabled users could still approve reports that have not yet had tasks re-assigned, if they click into the Zetadocs Expenses client from an email link.

Disabled delegate users receive approval emails

Resolved an issue where disabled users who are still listed as a delegate for another user would still receive approval emails for the other user.
