What’s new in Zetadocs Expenses November 2024 update

Report and expense rejection notification improvements.

This article describes the new features and other improvements in the November 2024 update of the Zetadocs Expenses service.

Changes in this update

Feature enhancements

Rejection emails sent to previous approvers

If a report or individual expense is rejected, the notification emails are now sent to the previous approvers, as well as the submitting user.

Improved tracking for report exports to file

If an Expenses tenant is set up without ERP integration enabled, the 'save file' option in the status screen can be used as an export option to other 3rd party systems. This save option has now been improved to include timing and user details in the report history.

Quality and performance improvements

This update includes various improvements including the following:

Expenses mobile apps pop up a message '$http Error 500:'

A synchronization issue was resolved whereby mobile apps version 3.4.24243 and older were not fully compatible with the Zetadocs Expenses cloud service and some usage scenarios resulted in a message referencing an '$http Error 500:'. The resolution does not require an update of your mobile apps, but it is recommended to update to the to benefit from the latest enhancements and quality improvements.

Expenses emailed to Zetadocs Expenses do not retain their edited changes

Fixed an issue whereby any edits made to expenses that have been emailed to Zetadocs Expenses are not saved the first time, and only saved with subsequent edits.

Expenses client gets stuck in 'Application updated - rebuilding database' loop

Resolved an issue whereby in rare circumstances, the Zetadocs Expenses web app can get stuck in a loop with the message 'Application updated - rebuilding database on this device'.

User field not displayed when viewing report

Fixed an issue where in some circumstances, the user field, that indicates the submitter user who owns the report, may not be shown when viewing a report from the search page.

Additional upgrade steps

Extension for Business Central

This release is compatible with all previous versions of the Extension for Business Central. However, if you are using a previous version, we recommend that you upgrade to the latest version to benefit from stability and performance improvements.

NAV Server Components

The NAV Server Components have not been updated in this release.

This release is compatible with previous versions of the NAV Server Components (versions 3.3.18178 and later).

The Zetadocs Expenses Connector Windows service is installed on your NAV Server computer and manages communication between the Zetadocs server and the Zetadocs NAV Server Components.  If the Zetadocs Expenses Connector Windows service on your system is version 3.4.24080 or older, then we recommend you upgrade it to version 3.4.24081 (or later) to benefit from reliability and performance improvements when exporting reports.

The Zetadocs Expenses Connector Windows service can be updated simply without affecting your NAV system.  Please contact Equisys for more information.

Reporting Template

The PowerBI Reporting Template has not been updated in this release.

Mobile apps

Installed mobile apps will be updated automatically on mobile devices where this is enabled.
