FIX: Zetadocs Server stalls with max CPU usage Print ZTN4535 This Zetadocs technical note applies to: Zetadocs Server 3.0 and later Symptom Zetadocs Server conversion seems to freeze, with a high CPU usage. Cause Zetadocs Server regularly monitors the document queue folders to list the work to do. A fault in the software makes this listing to take increasing time when dealing with many documents, to the point where the application runs out of resource to process the work. Resolution The frequency of the monitoring can be adjusted with Registry keys. A work around is to increase the time between the monitoring cycles. This can be achieved via the following steps in the registry: Registry Editor warning WARNING: Using Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. Equisys cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the incorrect use of Registry Editor can be solved. 1. Open the registry editor (click start and type ‘regedit’) 2. Navigate to Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Equisys\Zetadocs Document Converter 3. Add the following entries: a. DWORD BatchQueueTime b. DWORD RootQueueTime c. The default value for those keys is 10000(ms). To reduce the stress on the server, this value should be increased, typically to 120000(ms). Status This behaviour was corrected with the work around detailed above.
