Changes in this update

Feature enhancements

Report export validation errors with Business Central extension

For Business Central systems using the Zetadocs Extension for Business Central, if a validation error from Business Central causes a report export operation to fail then the error message and the expense number will now be logged to the report history.  This helps to identify and correct issues simply, saving time for system implementors and support staff.

Additional country support with Business Central extension

The Zetadocs Extension for Business Central is now available for most country variants of Business Central, and the country list in the company settings screen has been updated to match this.

Please contact Equisys if you wish to install the extension on a Business Central system other than UK, USA or Canada so that we can discuss any regional differences.

Default tax posting group with Business Central extension

Previously when exporting to a purchase invoices the export would fail if the vendor had no default tax posting group configured in the Business Central system.  The Zetadocs Extension for Business Central now prevents this failing by setting the tax posting group for the purchase invoice to the value from the first expense.

Quality and performance improvements

This update includes a number of quality and performance improvements, including the following:

Improve reliability of report export

We have corrected an issue which caused exporting to Business Central to fail intermittently with the message “failed to queue for export” logged to the message history.

We have also corrected a separate issue where a report could get stuck in a “processing” state on occasion, requiring intervention by technical support to reset the status before it could be exported.

Map background display issue

Previously there was an issue with displaying maps when using the Zetadocs Expenses mobile app on some Apple iOS devices.  This affected how the route was displayed in the mileage expense view and edit screens, causing it to be displayed on a solid grey background instead of overlaying it onto a map.  We have now corrected the issue.

Journal document number with BC extension

Previously the Zetadocs Extension for Business Central did not set the journal document number on exported journals, requiring the user to enter a document number manually when posting the journal.  This has now been corrected, and the system now sets the document number to the Zetadocs Expenses report number so that journals for a report can be viewed simply.

Canadian sales tax with BC extension

On Canadian systems with sales tax reclaim enabled, the previous release of the BC extension did not correctly split the GST and PST portions of the sales tax for some Canadian provinces, and report export would fail if the system was configured to export to journals.

We have corrected both issues in this release of the Extension for Business Central.

Additional upgrade steps

Extension for Business Central

Customers using the extension with a Business Central public cloud system can update this from Microsoft AppSource.  Updates are typically available on AppSource within seven working days of release, and you can check whether it is available for your system by comparing the AppSource version number with the version number listed above.

Customers using the extension with a Business Central on-premises system can download the extension from the Equisys software updates page.

To upgrade from an older version of the extension please contact your Business Central reseller, or contact Equisys for further assistance if required.

This release is compatible with previous versions of the Extension for Business Central.

Connector for NAV

Customers using the Connector for NAV with a Business Central or NAV on-premises system can download the connector from the Equisys software updates page.

To upgrade from an older version of the connector, follow the instructions in this technote.  Please contact Equisys for further assistance if required.

This release is compatible with previous versions of the connector (versions 3.3.18178 and later).

Versions of the connector before the June 2019 release (versions before 3.3.19148) are not compatible with Business Central on-premises systems using the April 2019 release of Business Central (BC14), or with older Business Central systems with cumulative update 4 (BC13 CU4).

Reporting Template

There is no update to the PowerBI reporting template with this release.

Mobile apps

Installed mobile apps will be updated automatically on mobile devices where this is enabled.

Known issues with released features

Canada sales tax not split correctly with Connector for NAV
