Changes in this update

Feature enhancements

New receipt viewer for mobile devices

We have added a receipt viewer in the mobile app, with the same functionality as the viewer in the desktop app which we released earlier this year.  This enables you to scroll through multiple receipts on an expense quickly, rotate receipts, and view a receipt alongside the expense on larger tablets.

Improved authentication method in NAV Connector

We have implemented a more secure authentication method in the Zetadocs Expenses Connector for NAV, replacing the previous mechanism which is being withdrawn by Microsoft in November.

We have also removed use of the Connector Public Key setting when configuring the connector.  The value is still displayed in the Zetadocs Expenses admin site in case there is a need to reinstall an older connector version, but is no longer needed when installing this new version.

Google maps integration

This feature has now been released for accounts outside UK and US which use kilometers for recording and reimbursing business mileage, and is now enabled on all accounts.

Preview features

The following enhancements are enabled on selected accounts only.  This allows channel partners and other users to understand the feature and to give feedback on its implementation before general release.  Please contact Equisys if you wish to use any of these preview features.

Approve and reject individual expenses

Approvers can now approve and reject individual expenses on an Expense Report or Vehicle Report, avoiding delays during the approval process and improving accountability.

Rejected expenses are removed from the report, and a notification email is sent to the submitter so that they can correct and resubmit the rejected expenses.  This avoids the need to reject an entire Expense Report, and so prevents delays in approval and payment of other expenses on the report.

Approved expenses are shown on the report.  This helps when an expense needs approval by a second person, enabling the second approver to see which expenses still need to be checked.  The View Expense screen now includes the approver name and an optional comment to improve approval accountability.

Quality and performance improvements

This update includes general quality and performance improvements, including the following:

Recover automatically after restarting NAV

We have corrected an issue which caused exporting reports to fail until the Zetadocs Connector for NAV was restarted.  The issue occurred after the NAV server computer was restarted on a small number of systems.

Admin site can switch to another web site

We have corrected an issue on the admin site Manage Company screen where pressing the Enter key resulted in a sign-in page from a different web site being displayed.

Show distance units on Vehicle Report

We have added distance units (miles or km) to field labels on the Vehicle Report.  This helps improve usability for companies using km units, and also improves consistency with the mileage form.

Additional upgrade steps

Zetadocs Expenses Connector for NAV

This release is compatible with older versions of the Zetadocs Expenses Connector and NAV codeunits.

Mobile apps

Installed mobile apps will be updated automatically on mobile devices where this is enabled.
