Changes in this update

Feature enhancements

The main enhancements in this release are as follows.

Itemized expenses

You can now itemize an expense, splitting a single payment into two or more items which you can assign to different expense types, projects etc.  This enables you to enter each bill as a single expense, making it easier to enter and approve combined expenses.

This feature was made available in preview on selected accounts in the September release, and has been released for all users.

Improve selection from long lists

You can now select values from long lists more quickly by using the keyboard.  If you type one or more letters, the selection list will be the filtered so that it only shows items containing that text.  This is supported when choosing a custom field, expense type or exchange rate.

Import custom property values

You can now import a list of custom property values from a CSV format file.  This saves time when editing custom properties with many values, such as a list of customers or jobs, and helps avoid mistakes.

Custom property change consistency

Changes to custom property values are now not visible to users until all the changes are saved.  This ensures that users will see a consistent list of values.  The administrator can also cancel the edit process if they make a mistake, discarding the set of changes they have made.

Search for item using ID

We have added a Search option to the client app.  This enables a finance processor or user to view an expense or Expense Report simply by entering the “short ID” of the item, which simplifies handling questions about an individual expense.

Support for Apple devices using iOS 10

We have validated the client app on the latest release of Apple’s iOS operating system, to confirm that the app works correctly on devices which use this.

Simplified process for enabling preview features

We have improved the process used by Equisys staff to enable preview features on individual accounts, making it quicker to respond to requests to add new a new feature to an account.

System usage report

We have added an option in the admin site which lists the active users of the system, and gives information about the number of expenses and expense reports which have been created.  This helps the administrator to understand how the system is being used, and complements the Status screen available to finance processors.

Preview features

The following enhancements are enabled on selected accounts only.  This allows channel partners and other users to understand the feature and to give feedback on its use before general release.  Please contact Equisys if you wish to use any of these preview features.

Export using NAV OData support

You can now configure the system to integrate with the NAV system using the standard NAV OData support, supported on NAV 2013 or later.  This removes the need to install new software in the NAV system or install the Zetadocs Expenses Connector, which simplifies the installation process, reduces the work needed to support new features, and improves support for hosted NAV systems.

Quality and performance improvements

This update includes a number of quality and performance improvements, including the following:

Error when using admin site for multiple accounts

We have corrected an issue which caused the admin site to display an error when switching between multiple accounts.

Additional upgrade steps

Zetadocs Expenses Connector for NAV

The changes in this release do not affect the Zetadocs Expenses Connector or codeunits.  Sites using version 3.3.394 or later of these components do not need to upgrade them for this release: users will see the new features automatically.

Mobile apps

Mobile apps which have already been installed will be updated automatically.
