FIX: Faxes are sent with a blank fax number on header line or station ID

This Zetafax technical note applies to:

• Zetafax server 7.5.1.91
• Active CAPI ISDN controller cards.

Symptom

Note: The fax number on the header line of a received fax is sometimes referred to as the 'Station ID'

When using a CAPI ISDN device to send faxes, recipients report that faxes sent by Zetafax do not have the fax number on the header of each page sent, or the station ID is not recoered correctly in received fax reports as specified in the 'Fax number on header line' option within Zetafax 'Device options' configuration.

Cause

With previous versions the CAPI device controller for Zetafax did not submit this information to the CAPI sub-system.

Resolution

Equisys has provided an updated version of the CAPI device controller (ZFDevCP_75192.exe) which does provide the CAPI sub-system with the information entered in the 'Fax number on header line' option within Zetafax configuration. It is accompanied by a README providing full instructions for installing this update.
