FIX: Zetadocs Server is unable to convert Outlook email messages with embedded images

This Zetadocs technical note applies to:

• Zetadocs Server 4.0.21285

Symptom

When trying to convert Email messages (.msg files) with embedded images, the files fail to convert.

The Document Converter logs will have the following entry:

•  StellentService.SaveAttachmentsFromFile[63]    Exception of type Zetadocs.DocumentConverter.DCFileNotSupportedException

Cause

The conversion library used in the Zetadocs Server version listed above is incompatible with some Outlook email messages with embedded images. This results in the file failing to convert.

Resolution

This fault was corrected in a hotfix, which is available by contacting Equisys Technical Support and quoting the technote number ZTN4619. 

Status

This behaviour was corrected in the hotfix detailed above.
