FIX: Zetadocs Server service hangs when a pdf document containing a barcode is introduced into a queue folder. Print ZTN4162 ID: ZTN4162 This Zetadocs technical note applies to: Zetadocs Server v1.3 Symptom The Zetadocs Server service may hang when a PDF document containing a barcode not recognized by Abbyy is dropped into a queue folder. As the conversion of the document is never achieved the Zetadocs Server attempts to convert the document again, this results in the ABBYY license eventually being exhausted (Volume remains = 0). Cause During the barcode recognition process, Abbyy may incorrectly read a value if the barcode present on the document is either too small or its resolution is too low. In this case, Abbyy can return a barcode value containing non utf-8 characters which can cause the Zetadocs Server to hang. Resolution A hotfix is available from Equisys Technical Support to resolve this issue. We also recommend using a minimum font size of 32 points and a minimum resolution of 600 dpi when printing barcodes. Status This has been identified as an issue in the software versions given above.
